At Saint-Gobain and HKO, the well-being of employees and ethical responsibility hold a high priority. "Making the world a better home" is not only Saint-Gobain's guiding principle but also a common thread for us at HKO in our interactions with our employees and our impact on society.
Health, culture and business ethics
Health and Safety
Health and safety along our entire value chain are at the heart of our corporate culture, to protect all our employees, temporary workers, contractors, customers, partners, the neighborhood, and suppliers at our locations. All employees and visitors are trained in workplace safety at their respective locations. We encourage everyone to report and eliminate unsafe situations immediately to minimize risks.
"Our goal is clear: no occupational illnesses and no accidents!" says Claire Pedini, Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility at Saint-Gobain. We offer regular back training and vaccination programs, as well as regular workplace evaluations, to create a healthy and safe working environment.
All employees can help themselves to the weekly fresh fruit and vegetable baskets. At the water dispensers, there is sparkling and still drinking water available on-site to also minimize the environmental impact of beverage deliveries.
Flexible working hours and home office for administrative staff are a matter of course for us to enable a good work-life balance.
Business Ethics
Saint-Gobain is a signatory of the "United Nations Global Compact" declaration in support of human rights. The behavioral and action principles summarized by Saint-Gobain form the basis of our actions:
Work atmosphere
We rely on a strong corporate culture that strengthens employee retention and attracts and promotes talent. In our TEC (Trust – Empowerment – Collaboration) culture, we build on mutual trust, empowerment, and collaboration of individual employees to create a motivating, appreciative, and engaging work environment for all employees.
Diversity and inclusion
At our company, diversity and inclusion in all areas and forms are desired and promoted. Diversity is an important part of our corporate culture, and we are convinced that this is the only way we can be successful. Long-standing and experienced employees enjoy our utmost appreciation, as do young professionals who bring fresh perspectives and modern mindsets into the company.
